A child neurologist, or pediatric neurologist, is a doctor who treats children who have problems with their nervous system. Difficulties in the nervous system can start in the brain, spine, nerves, or muscles. These can lead to problems such as seizures, headaches, or developing delays.

A child and adolescent psychiatrist specializes in diagnosing and treating developmental, behavioral, emotional, and mental health disorders in teens and young children. A child and adolescent or pediatric psychiatrist focus on the biological, psychological and social components of these disorders.
